The Photographic Group: ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Text to appear on page

23 – 28 May, Brailes Village Hall, OX15 5AS

The first of two main social events within the Annual Meets programme:

  • Daily photographic and craft workshops
  • A competition (battle) between Photographic Section and two Camera Clubs local to the event. Judged independently and externally by:

Leigh Preston FRPS, EFIAP, MPAGB (www.leighpreston.co.uk)

  • All members are at liberty to submit images for consideration of selection.

Members are invited and encouraged to share their experiences, expertise and knowledge within a daily programme of workshops. Photographic, craft and hobby topics are equally welcomed. Please use the on-line form at www.photogroup.co.uk – “Volunteer to give a talk or workshop”.

On the evening of Saturday 25 May two local camera clubs are invited to join us for a three-way battle that is judged externally and independently of all three clubs. The Photographic Group has triumphed in the last two years.

We ask that all members attending bring along their best competition prints to the village hall no later than Friday evening. Digital images may be submitted at any time by email or www.wetransfer.com to pgfestival@photogroup.co.uk

If you are a PG member and have some images and/or prints that you are really proud of but do not normally enter competitions why not submit them for consideration of selection – you may well have a deciding image or print.

A team of experienced and well qualified PG members will select from your entries those images and prints used to represent PG in the three-way battle.

On Sunday prints only will be displayed for members attending to view and vote for their favourite prints so that 1st, 2nd and 3rd Inter-Unit awards can be made on Sunday evening.

There is also a separate category for best Postcard print – 10 inch (255mm) x 8 inch (200mm) max – unmounted.

This is always a very successful event – so please do continue to contribute your prints, digital images and postcard prints together with offers for workshops.

Be sure to submit all entries, payment and forms to the Exhibition Secretary by the single deadline of Friday 26th July 2019 in order that the necessary cataloguing and organisation can be carried out. Prints can be brought to the Exhibition Meet with payment but entry forms must be submitted prior to the closing date. If not attending the exhibition prints can be sent to the Exhibition Secretary provided they are received by 31st July 2019 with return postage cost.
